Supporting Lion Conservation With Born Free.

by Shon Alamupdated on June 3, 2020June 1, 2020

As part of the ethos of Bidwedge it has always been our intention to deliver back to the community. It’s the message that we started with and its part of the driver that keeps us focused.

Yes, we are a business, but we are a socially minded business, it’s not just about us.

Often words like sustainability are banded around but you have to understand what it actually means and more importantly you must be able to deliver. On that basis we believe that we have found the perfect vehicle that enables us to deliver on our ethos. As we enter the new normal of being socially aware and recognising that greed is no longer a sustainable way forward, we’re extremely happy to announce a partnership with big cat conservation charity, Born Free.

This opportunity is a great recognition of who we are, our values and what we stand for – and gives us the chance to support a fabulous, award-winning charity.

When we say community, we mean it. We say we are a social fintech exchange platform because we are! If we say we do not use banks or wholesalers, it’s because it’s true. Yes of course we are a business and yes, we do all the business things that you may expect, but we are a business with an identity, a heart, and an ethos – we exist for more than just making a profit

So how does our partnership with Born Free work. It’s simple;

1) Dig out any spare or unused currency that you have left over from your trip overseas. You may have some tucked in the back of a drawer – the last estimate suggested there is over £4 billion just gathering dust. So, get hunting, gather it together and exchange it with Bidwedge

2) Enter the amount you have to change and hit ‘show me the money’. We’ll tell you what we’ll give you for your unwanted currency

3)Accept the amount and tell us you’d like us to donate it direct to Born Free’s conservation projects

4) We’ll ensure the full amount gets donated PLUS we’ll donate 100% of the handling fee to the Born Free Foundation – so your donation is worth even more and won’t cost you a penny extra

5) If you feel you can’t donate right now to help Born Free’s conservation work, then don’t worry, we’ll still donate 50% of our handling fee

So that’s the financial side, but we can go further; we can all do more. At Bidwedge we are going to do as much as we can to continue to raise awareness of the great conservation work that Born Free is doing. Raising awareness, so that we all gain a real understanding, is as important as education – and we aim to play a part in this. The link below shows the energy and enthusiasm that Born Free displays day in and day out to give these wonderful creatures, living at their sanctuaries in Shamwari, South Africa, a real chance . Bidwedge.com has always seen its role as being part of the community, without people selling to us, we have no business, which is why we are transparent in how we deal with you. No confusing exchange spreads: We simply charge a small fee. This ensures we make a profit and hopefully you won’t feel ripped off as you’ll know exactly what you’re getting. We hope we’ll have a long relationship with our customers who will come to see us as a valuable resource now, and in the future.

But right now, let’s enjoy the moment and celebrate and support the great conservation work of our partners, Born Free.
